Each SMFA Traveling Fellowship is in the amount of $10,000. 


These prestigious awards are given to graduates of the Museum School in support of their work and as an acknowledgement of their outstanding achievement.

 

Ten award recipients are made up of a diverse group of alumni:

Georgie Friedman (MFA ‘08) - Location: ANTARCTICA

Jodie Goodnough (MFA '13)

Megan Herwig (MFA '13)

Sara Jones (MFA ‘07)

Cassandra Klos (BFA '14)

Emily Lombardo (MFA ‘13)

Gregory Lookerse (MFA ’14).


In the fall of 2017, one of the ten 2017 Fellows will be chosen for a one-person exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston from April to October 2019.


The jurors who selected this year’s award recipients (from 215 applicants) were Lucas Cowan, Public Art Curator for the The Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, Dina Deitsch, John R. and Barbara Robinson Family Interim Director of the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, and Amanda McDonald Crowley, New York-based Australian Independent Curator.
