Light of the Storm

video still, 2011

Filmed at night, the intensity and unpredictability of a lightning storm illuminates the room in intermittent strobes, shifting the focus between the sky and the viewing environment.

The ambient sound of the storm has been altered: cutting to silence whenever the sky illuminates, creating frequent, irregular audio interruptions.

Alternating between blackness and light, sound and silence, this video-installation grounds the viewer in their current location while alternately expanding the space and field of vision and auditory awareness.
